Figure - Life Drawing

Another post - updating college work and such...
Deer studies (referenced from various youtube videos)
and some recent life drawing below (contains nudity)

Long and short studies - Trying to practice more and more!

IF- Jump

Oh dear, this will be my first IF
of 2012 -I've missed so many nice words!

Just a quick sketch to start... :)

Brothers Grimm

So I'm currently working on my final project for my Art Foundation Year -

Based on fairytales by the Brothers Grimm and one in particular called "Brother and Sister",

a story about a little boy who is transformed into a roe buck...

It's a lovely tale, with wolves, tigers, forests and witches - just perfect to illustrate :)

I'll try and post more as I develop ideas, but till then, here's a few sketches and ideas so far!

"what a beautiful bird am I"

Another Juniper Tree illustration -

I'm quite fond of the lines for this one...

Shadows

So I've been working on a new project - Looking at Shadow Puppets,
Story Telling, and the Brothers Grimm fairytales.

I'll try and keep updating through this project, but here are a few sketches,
based on "The Juniper Tree" (which is such a creepy story, but has great imagery...)

And of course, trying to not make it too 'cute'...

Foxes and Bears

So! Long post - various things from the last month...

I'm busy with university interviews at the moment - a lot of portfolio prep, no time for updating the blog!

I'm currently working on a project, looking at the fur industry - Bear skins in particular.

These are just a few pages from my sketchbook, I will try and update again soon!

Typography (etc)

Sorry I haven't uploaded for a while!

Thought I'd just post a few things I've been doing the past month or so..

I've just finished a typography/illustration project. I've been drawing dogs and foxes, making 3-D versions of Japanese characters, painted to look like kokeshi dolls... you know,  the usual!

(first post of december! I should be getting more festive...!)

Kokeshi Type

I've been doing a typography project at college...

just playing around on photoshop.

(and I like kokeshi dolls!)
